Open hiking at mile 43


 Bus to mile 43 and hiked down along the Riverbed to the area washed out. Caribou, ptarmigan, and artic squirrels along the way.  Crossed the river and viewed the bridge they are building to cross the washout area. 4.4 mile hike. Beautiful sunny day.

Caribou lay in the snow in the heat of the day. We're 50 yards from these caribou.
